The full programme for 2025-26 is now available on this website so head over to our 2025-2026 Programme and secure your membership now. Our next talk will be:
Tuesday 25 November – Christopher Donaldson: The Influence of the Ordnance Survey on the Lake District’s Name-scape Christopher explores the Ordnance Survey’s Original Object Name Books. These books played a critical role in the OS’s first major Lake District Survey and offer extraordinary insights into the social life and landscapes of Cumbria some 160 years ago.
Please urge your friends to come and join us this season. The price of membership remains the same at £46. A season ticket is still worth buying even if you miss the first couple of talks. As we charge £10 for a single talk, if you plan to attend 5 or more the season ticket becomes best value.
We are always planning ahead, so please email us if you know of a good speaker who you think would fit with our aims: members@grangelecturesociety.org. We are keen to explore your ideas.
We are currently looking for someone to take on the role of Membership Secretary. Ability to use a simple spreadsheet would be important. This role has a flurry of activity around September and early October when membership is being taken. The rest of the year tasks are limited, structured and straight forward. Do contact us if you would be willing to help.
Looking forward to welcoming you soon. A big thank you to our committee of trustees who have put so much of their own time into making Grange Lecture Society a great success.
